-------

TU Dublin Canoe Club offers members great opportunities to learn, and advance on their kayaking skills.

The University provides all equipment so there is no reason not to come along to one of our upcoming events.

With no previous experience needed its a great way to meet new people, while learning a new skill.

For returning members and more advanced paddlers, the club offers opportunities to meet like minded people and gain new experience in a wide range of kayaking disciplines.

Our trainings will take place mainly in the warmth of Ballyfermot swimming pool - but we'll also venture out onto the river at the weekends!

History

The club was established in 1987, which means the club is 35 years old this year!! We'll be having tonnes of events to celebrate this milestone so be sure to check them out!

Our member numbers grow year on year, making it a very popular club in TU Dublin.

Achievements

TU Dublin Canoe Club are very competitive with other colleges around Ireland.

In April 2023, TUDCC competed in I-CUPS ........

In Febuary 2023, TUDCC won 1st place in Canoe Polo and 3rd place in Whitewater in TUD Canoe and Kayak Varisties

In 2020, TUDCC placed 2nd at the MUCK Canoe and Kayak Varsities.

In Feb 2019, TUDCC was awarded most improved club at the UL Canoe and Kayak Varsities

In Mar 2019, Our polo teams competed at the ICUP's where the Womens and Div.1 teams both came 1st in the divisions. While the second TUDCC team took the silver medal place.

We encourage all our members to take part in competitions and represent the college.

Training

Our training sessions will take place in Ballyfermot swimming pool. We will meet in Broombridge (take the Luas from Grangegorman!) at 5:15 to get a bus out to Ballyfermot and be there for 6. The sessions will run from 6-7 on Tuesdays

We also host social events such as movie nights, info nights, and just a good aul night in the pub! This is a really great way to get to know people before getting on the water with them!

Throughout the year, we'll hold various different river trips, from very nice beginner rivers, all the way up to advanced level rivers for those brave enough!

So come along and get yourself out kayaking!
