TUD Golf Society — Where Every Swing Counts
Welcome to the Technological University Dublin Golf Society — one of the most vibrant and welcoming sports societies across the TUD campus network. Whether you're stepping onto a course for the very first time or you're a seasoned player looking to sharpen your game and meet like-minded people, you've found your home.
Our society proudly spans all TUD campuses — including Grangegorman, Tallaght, Blanchardstown, Bolton Street, and beyond — bringing students together from every corner of the university through a shared love of the game. Golf has a unique way of connecting people, and that's exactly the spirit we've built this society around.
A Calendar Packed with Highlights
From the moment the academic year kicks off, there's always something to look forward to. We run a full programme of events throughout the year, including society outings to some of Ireland's finest and most scenic courses, inter-campus competitions, end-of-semester socials, and our much-loved annual golf trip — a highlight on every member's calendar. Past trips have taken members to incredible destinations, and each year we aim to make the next one even better.
We also compete at Intervarsity level, giving our more competitive members the chance to represent TUD against societies from universities all across Ireland. It's a brilliant experience — the camaraderie, the competition, and the pride of pulling on the TUD colours make Intervarsities one of the standout moments of our year.
All Abilities, All Welcome
We mean it when we say everyone is welcome here. You don't need a handicap, a set of expensive clubs, or years of experience to join. Whether you're a complete beginner who's never held a club, an intermediate player building consistency, or a low-handicapper with ambitions to compete — we cater for all levels. We regularly organise beginner-friendly sessions and offer guidance from experienced members, so no one ever feels out of their depth.
Golf can sometimes feel like an exclusive sport. We're here to change that.

The TUD Golf Society is as much about the social experience as it is about the sport. We foster a fun, relaxed, and inclusive environment where friendships are made on the fairway and continued long after the round is over. From post-round meals and drinks to society nights out, there's always a reason to get involved beyond the course itself.

History
TU Dublin Golf Club has its roots in the sporting culture of the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), where student golfers had long been organising outings and competitions as part of campus life. As golf grew in popularity across Ireland, so too did the club's presence and ambition within the institution.
The club's defining moment came in January 2019, when DIT merged with the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown and the Institute of Technology Tallaght to form Technological University Dublin — Ireland's first Technological University. With that merger, the golf club took on a new identity too. Students from across Dublin's tech-education campuses were united under one banner for the first time, giving the club a broader membership, a wider reach, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Since then, TU Dublin Golf Club has gone from strength to strength. The club competes annually in Student Sport Ireland Intervarsity competitions, taking on universities from across the country at some of Ireland's finest courses. Off the course, a busy calendar of social outings, internal competitions, and an annual trip give members plenty to look forward to throughout the year.
Today, the club is home to golfers of every background and ability — from first-timers picking up a club for the first time, to seasoned competitors with ambitions on the Intervarsity stage. Wherever you are in your golf journey, this club has always had a place for you.
