Training
Trainings take place in the Royal St George Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire on Saturday mornings at 10am-1pm.
We train a style of racing called team racing, and this is done in boats called Firefly's. Training consists of warm-up, boat handling practice based on team racing manoeuvres, mark trap trainings, starts, tactics, team building and practice races.
Our most important requirement is bringing an open mind and enthusiasm to each training.
Experienced sailors / sea-goers: please bring oilies / dry suit etc, sailing shoes (yes your feet will be getting wet, you're sailing) and spare warm clothes and a buoyancy aid
For newbies: if you have a wetsuit or other sea clothes from other watersports - these are perfect! If you don't have any, bring a spare set of clothes (especially trousers, old runners, socks), and waterproof layers (such as waterproof hiking trousers, rain jacket).
See ya on the water Xx
